safe engine ??

does a tt have a safe engine or does it bugger the valves when the cam belt brakes???

    If they don't then you're very lucky ! This is an interference engine.

    As long as the engine isn't revving too highly, you will be unlucky to damage any valves! Due to the engine being 2 banks of 3 cylinders the cams all settle off-lobe - meaning all valves are shut so it doesn't matter if the pistons carry on moving... If the revs are high though then the cams will have enough inertia to come back on lobe, possibly resulting in valve damage....
