Engine loom??

From one problem to the next. sorted power steering pump now just had the pleasure of running on 5 cylinders for the lastday or so.

Used Datascan and found no.3 not working. After sh***ing myself took off throttle cover, messed around with loom and it came back to life.

Also noticed cover of Ptu and cas connectors breaking up. when i pull on ptu wires (gently) engine speed changes.

I know that this brittle/broken wire thing seems to be a common problem on here. Is there an easy fix or can i get new connectors and/or loom to sort it. Am hoping there must be a solution cos i dont think it's going to survive for much longer.

cheers

New looms are available. Check with the traders on here first, but if you struggle http://www.conceptzperformance are doing them at a reasonable rate :)

Fitting isn't too difficult - well not if you've done one before :D Remove glove box then disassemble air box behind, unbolt the fan but leave it where it is, and remove the box for the air con unit. You can then get to the cover plate on the back of the bulkhead to remove it, then remove the loom :)

great advice as ever. gonna try replacing coil pack connecters (from greg :) ) first. if that doesn't work think i'll take a sledehammer to it.
