Posted October 26, 200618 yr Hi I am looking to get some paint to repair my wing and bumper. Can anybody tell me what colour my car is and where I would find the code for it. I have just had a look at it says AH3g on the plate under the bonnet. Does this sound right? Also where would the best place to get it from be? Thanks Darrell
October 26, 200618 yr I'm going by what I've seen on TV. If yuo bring in a 1cm by 1cm chip of your car, the paint shops can scan that into the computer to determin the colour.

Thanks Darrell Hi There the colour is CHERRY RED PEARL, take the code AH3 to halfords and they will mix up a can for £9.99. The cans they make up are Proffessional HOLTZ version with proper spray pattern and adjustable nozzle, This is how i done my front bumper and centre panel and they turned out great, I found the Simoniz cellulose grey primer (code SIMP11) and Halfords own brand clear laquer to work best with the Holtz paint. Hope this point you in the right direction... Jay
October 26, 200618 yr Matching up paint using just a paint code on a 15yr old car is not going to work. The colour will not match. Take in you fuel filler cap to get it matched properly. oh...and avoid halfords for paint !! ..... use a proper auto paint supplier...most towns/cities have them.
October 27, 200618 yr Cheers for the replies guys. The paint does seem to have a red metalic fleck in it when the sun comes out. Does this affect the paint I should get? Does it need to be base fleck and clear? As you can probably tell I don't know much about this. Darrell
