Suddenly decided not to go into top gear (auto) 1 & 2 no problem. 50mph at 4000r! nothing else sounds or acts differently. Anyone else had same fault?

have u pressed the overdrive button on the auto stick ?? if so press it again and hopefully that should sort it

dont worry the poor girl already , Try pressing the overdrive button and see if that does it .

 

Sounds terminal to me. Loosing third is the begining of the end.

Tried, but no difference. Looks like the high clutch has gone - recon. time! Thanks for replying

What exactly does that button do then?.

 

 

Absolutely nothing in my case!

Also worth checking the fluid levels, most problems with the auto box seem to come from old or not enough fluid
