personally speaking look up to see if there is a credit union local to you join them and save there, they can pay upto 8% dividend at the year end and you can borrow from other members at a very cheap rate e.g you can borrow £1000 off a credit union and pay back just £1066 over 12 months...otherwise its probably one of the online saving accounts like ING....alot depends on access to the money...i.e. less access longer term savings more %

get an isa and also one of those regular saver jobbies. Halifax did them they're like 7% as long as you put in the same amount every month.
