Any of you guys got a tried and tested method of cleaning the connectors to make sure they are gettring the proper contact??

The way I do it is with either WD40 or proper contact cleaner and use a very small flat head screw driver and scrape the corrosion off.

i did a write up in the FAQ might help :)

Alloy wheel cleaner is good for cleaning up contacts, but make sure you flush it out afterwards with ordinary contact cleaner, which actually dont remove much of the corrosion.

wonder-wheels cleaner, a small sharp screwdriver and wd-40 should do it.

Once clean it can be an idea to apply some electrical silicon grease - stops water ingress and protects against corrosion :)

Vinegar is good for cleaning corrosion, if you are stuck.

I used wheel acid which valeters use to remove brake dust , cleans it very well but needs a good rinsing afterwards :dance:

What about Baby Oil??? or even better Baby oil gel?? :D

Anyone know if Greg`s post about cleaning contacts still exists ? I have done a Search BTW . Several , in fact :p

i use a dremel with a fine bit to clean the contacts works great.
