300 TT auto, I gather when I floor the old beast, the power light to the left of the o/d light should illuminate. Is this correct? Also while driving away from a traffic light sensibly, it came on for approx 1/4 mile........why? Does it indicate some other fault? To get rid of the light i had to engage 'N' and then put back in 'D'. The rest of the drive home 7 miles it did not come on again. Any answers greatfully received......thanks.

Just a thought, nothing to do with boost controller? I've been fiddling with it.

yes it should come one when you floor it, it saves you having to press the 'power' button, all it means is it wont change gear until redline

o.k, thanks, but when driving steady it came on once tonight, I just wandered why, none of my manuals even explain or list the light.

Did it flash? It can flash a certain amount of times to tell you of a gearbox problem iirc.

Off topic, sorry.

I noticed after adjusting my TPS, when I turned my car on next, the POWER light flashed a number of times. This normal?

yes as the tps goes through the autobox as part of the gear change control so shows a problem when fiddling with the tps
