Just got home from work as karen pulled up in Z saying steering felt weird.

started it back up and it let go big time, with pas fluid pouring out.

Jacked up car and got karen to put fluid in with me under. poured straight out again looks like its coming directly from pump pulley area.

was hard to see clearly even with torch. is there a pipe that runs very close to (just above) pump pulley?

Is it likely to be pump itself. if yes is it easy job to do. ie not cambelt off etc.

well fed up as it sailed through mot last saturday.

any help/advice appreciated

cheers

nick

p.s. anyone got 2nd hand pump for sale

Which pulley? Are you sure its the PS pulley and not the alternator pulley? The PS high pressure line runs under the alternator pulley and is known to fail where it passes under the pulley :)

PS is the top pulley and alternator is the bottom one. If its from under the bottom one remove the hose and get it repaired by a hydraulics specialist. Do NOT buy a new one from Nissan - much dollar! lol

damn it was leaking from p/steering pulley. well knackered fluid pouring straight out with engine off.

just worked out when it happened. hit a speed hump at low speed back in july. that pushed bottom rad pipe (hard pipe kit) in to pulley. ended up with major water leak. thought that was it but must have damaged pulley. still it lasted another 2 months  ffs bloody speed humps!

Any advice on changing pump. guessing it's a rad out job but any other help would be great.

thanks

Shouldn't be too hard a job - intake/boost hoses off drivers side, couple of new knuckles for your hands... Shouldn't be too hard bud :)
