a couple of weeks ago i started a thread about a noise my car made wen it got warm. well after relacing the vvt springs and numerous oil changes it is still there, a few garages have said its defo a cam or hydraulic lifter. are the lifters a big job in one of these motors. ive been usin the car everyday and it hasnt really got any worse. just sounds shit at around 2500 revs (well i can hear it anyways). would i be best takin it to one of these zed specialist? i live in the north east, does anyone know of a place they could recomend me to take her to get repaired. i will do the job myself but i reckon i might have to strip the lifters out and replace em all unless theres a way to detect were this sound is comin from.she runs ok but wud like someone to give her the once over ;)

:( Gonna have a think about it tonight - sorry you went to all that effort and it didn't solve it. Its not the CAS is it?

cheers andy. just a proces of elimination. could it cause any real damage if its cam or lifter

Why mess about with an expensive process of elimination, pay for a consultation with an expert such as Zedworld at Tamworth, been established for years and knows these cars inside out, no guessing, but proper analysis, and friendly to boot. 01827 259222
