thinking of a tour de island meet so we can hook up with scotty who is always coming onto mainland so i thought its about time we returned the gesture.

would like to have a bit of a look round so scotty seeing as your local you can sort a little tour for us.

want to make a day for it so leave early. there are a few route options but as most of you are between b'mouth and soton lymington is the most viable option and i have confirmaton from scotty lowered cars and low bumpers ( if careful ) can access the ferry easily.

please copy and paste interest below adding +1 etc for additional passengers for scotty to arrange lunch location

As the ferry leaves at 9.45am we have to be there 9.15am LATEST (web site says no earlier than one hour before sailing no later than 30 minutes before sailing). Therefore the Little Chef meet should be 8.30am NOT 9.00am else we will miss the ferry.........any comments?

Dave

Yup, we dont wanna miss the ferry!

I take it we are meeting at Little chef 'B' (on the map) and then cutting down through the forest to Lyndhurst?

Little chef 'A' would mean going one way and turning around for me.

edited post to read little chef b and time change to meet up at 8:30 instead of 9.

will meet you all on Island, Scotty can you give me some idea of where would be best to meet up prior to lunch.....bearing in mind I'm not the Worlds best "morning person" - the missus is worse than me, but she can sleep in the car!!!!!!

Cheers for the effort you and Gaz have put into this, looking forward to putting faces to names etc

Hiya,

was planning on the 10AM from Pompey but found out last night that we're going to a party Saturday night, so I would guess it's more likely to be the 11AM.

cheers, Steve

Hmm, might have to amend my route then *thinks*

Assuming I'm the only one screwing up the days plans, could I just catch-up with you wherever you're doing lunch?? I reckon that would be easiest for all concerned.

Cheers, steve

sorry guy's but i will be on the way back from Holland on that morning....

so will not beable to make it ...

sorry again guy's was looking forward to this run too....

Depends how well you know the island mate

Hmmmm, good point......haven't got sat-nav, but the missus is incredibly good at map reading!!! I'm reasonably confident we'd be able to find you with the help of google maps etc. Got to give it a go anyway, I've bought a black roll-neck specially for the occasion (sorry Gaz, couldn't resist, been wearing them for years myself, well, can't do t-shirts in winter .....but I'm at 'that' age)!!

Well, when I've got a comfirmed number of people coming, I will get a table booked ata pub and e-mail you the route from the ferry mate, OK?

Right then folks, I have booked lunch for 12:30ish, and a couple of games of bowling for 4pm, should be finished bowling by 6 or there abouts, so we can go for a quick drink and a natter in the bar there and leave at around 6:45.

BTW If any of you NEED super unleaded, buy it before you come, we only have 1 garage that sell it, and they are very hit and miss with their deliveries.

See you all next sunday.

Scotty

i'm not going to make it, the car is going to be off the road for some time now
