That's a good question matey, i looked into this a while ago as i wanted to convert my sony vaio to mac os x.

It's not easy and takes about 4 hours to install. i haven't tried it yet but i'll try and dig the links out for you

I dont think you can install MAC OS on to a PC, but you can get things so i looks and acts like a MAC but its still windows underneath.

I suggest you have a go at vista mate

it can be done, i think you have to run an emulator called "pear" to fool it into thinking you're a mac then you have to own the intel version of mac os x.

...or you could just buy a mac mini for 600 quid and use bootcamp to install xp on it :D

the guys that got OSX Intel Developer Preview to run on a standard PC was the OSX86 group, google them to find out more. However, the final release version of OSX Intel is not available off the shelf and the ones that come with Macs try to handshake with the TPM chip on an Intel Mac.

Im sure there is a way to circumvent this but with every minor OSX update, apple patches the crack. There are probably still versions of the OSX Intel Developer Preview floating around that are pre patched, but I'm not sure if they will run all the newest apps as the build number might be wrong.

I am sure that the OSX86 guys have patched the current version(s).

Ive been testing Vista RC1 since it was released, and it's still not (in RC2 form too, apparently) ready to be used fully as a single OS, but you might be interested in partioning a drive and previewing it.

When it's out it's sure to be better than Mac OSX.

I used it on my Mac at work when I was employed.

OS X is good but far from perfect. Less suceptible to viruses etc but not that much better than windows.

With the grief of getting it to run on a PC I don't know if it's be any better to be honest.

From what i've seen of it the features they've included in vista are what os x 10 had anyway and leopard is going to have even more features. The timewarp facility is going to be something special!

so i should wait for vista then? is there a program that is simlar to apeture on the mac this is the reason i wanted mac OSX, i havent seen anything like this for PC

the timewarp "feature" in leopard looks like a cheap gimmick to me!

vista will rule all haha (maybe). also, Mac OSX isn't less susceptible to viruses, there's just a much smaller target base so everyone develops viruses for windows.
