Have any of you any experience of 2 cars on one policy? I do it with my motorbikes but just wondered if any of you had experience of a company that does it for cars.

I thought I would get something sensible for the summer so settled on a Catheram Super 7 VVC. It's a lowly 153bhp but it's only a bathtub on wheels so 0-60 in 4.9 can be had!

Unfortunately these are buggers to insure too but I can't drive both at the same time so I reckon I shouldn't have to pay 2 lots of insurance!!!

I havn't got 2 cars on one policy, but i took out a traders policy that covers everthing i driveupto £10,000. imports included. not bad for £650.

worth considering. mind you it is tpf&t only.

Simon,

i spoke to quite a few insurers about that, and i didnt get anywhere.

It makes sense to me.

The closest i got was with Admiral, who, because the 300 was highest group, would ensure any other car on the same terms (comp, IOD), for 1 pound a day. min 30 days.

So, an extra 360 quid for another high risk car...

but they wouldnt do mods, so its no good now...

Traders policy is the best way if you can blag one, i pay £710.00 a year for me and the Mrs and can drive any car on the road upto £25,000 in value fully comp.

but don't you have to be in the trade to get traders insurance, or is there someway of blagging it?

yep get a traders policy mines £450 im 22 up 2 10k ive had it 2/5years.

just blagg them tell them u valet from home or do a bit of body work im a painter by trade they didnt really want t know.

try 4 TRADEX or ROADRUNNER

Try Bell Direct. Priviledge would not let me have full NCB on two cars but Bell would. They let me keep My Z and my Rover Vitesse Sport on full NCB on each at approx £600 each with insured NCB and business use for both.

I have seen some negative reports about Bell here but the service so far has been efficient in my experience. They charged extra for my exhaust and intake and also BBS wheels. Incidently I understand that the extra on the wheels is all down to nickability - the wheels themselves are not covered!

I have got two cars with Norwich Union through a broker, I get a discount on the total policy price. I have been with them for a long while and it may be that they don't do this policy any more, it's worth a try though.
