Call me a geek but those r/c model clips of the jets are awesome! They even make the same noise as a real jet engine! Wonder how much they cost

???

veyron, got to have respect for anything that out accelerates a reasonably quick car that quickly :D

I'm in love :D

typical italian manufacturing. great looks, goes liek stink, electronics are shit. They are only suposed to flash like that under heavy braking.

Once you'd found out your car could do that under heavy braking, wouldn't you wire a switch up so you could do it whenever you liked? :hyper:

Sure the lights aren't 'multiplexed' LEDs? ;) Not on all the time but pulsed to save energy. To the human eye they look like they're on all the time though. Trouble is a camera has a shutter so the LED would have to be on when the shutter was open - this won't happen all the time since the frequencies are different...

Could be wrong tho :D

My brother is into skydiving. One of his mates has a bird man suit and has strapped r/c jet engines to his legs. NUTTER!

Nope - you're spot on Andy!

I've got good contacts with the company who designed and builds the rear (and front) light clusters for the Veyron and they are indeed multiplexed LEDs.

A cheap model jet engine starts around £1300 and goes up to around 4 to 5 grand   These include a fully automated on board starting system and shut down with a cooling sequence .

I,ve seen model jets at shows doing 250-300 mph in a straight line , they do look and sound just like the real thing

A proper mans toy :smash: HTH

I also seen one go straight into the ground. They blow up like real jets too!!

Cant afford jets though, can only afford my electric planes and gliders.
