well i'm doing mine at the moment

i've had the dash out before and it's not a hard job, i tryed to doit with the dash in but the clutch gets in the way. i've managed to find an alternative heatermatrix part thats cheeper than the zed ones. Mk1 nissan primera around £70 but is a bit different in size so i'll let you know how it goes . 300zx is 195x185x40 primera 190x185x43 so it 3mm wider, i'll be taking a few mm off the edge of the box, i'll keep you up dated

this could be a cheeper alternative , plus its made of copper/brass so shouldn't fail like the alli ones in the zeds

you'll also need to open the blower chamber( the bit the matrix slides into) because there are center pieces in the middle...........I know cause I did 2 last year.you need to take it out of the car to open it and it's a bitch to get out without damaging the air con equipment.....but it's possible

I wanna rip all the aircon stuff out. All the pump and pipes etc.. in engine bay are gone.

I already have a matrix, it came with the car. Unfortunatley it was in a box :headvswal

Regrettably I Never did take any photos.......Just wanted my car back on the road and my mates I did on the front of his house on the road, so wanted to get it sorted before the sunshine turned liquid. Anyway IIRC the air con stuff is on the passenger side and you need to gently lever the heater box to remove it, once out of the car it comes to bits very easily.....held together with a few clips and screws. you will end up with a top half and a bottom half.

its much easier with dash in chris

remove 4x 12mm nuts on pedal and 1x 12mm bolt top of assembly, disconnect cotter pin/clevis pin remove pedal, you may have to loosen both 12mm nuts holding master cylinder-clutch servo/booster and out it comes
