i have just bought a new pipe for the drivers side throttle bodie as mine had a split in the top

prob is now that my car will only boost to 6psi on the boost guage instead of 7+ any suggestions? also has irratic idle sometimes runs between 1000rpm and 1200 sometimes even 1500??????

sounds like you still got a leak in that pipe somewhere or in another one. i'd check it again if it was me.

never had any dealings with them so cant comment but i presume it would ahve been posted? if so was it squashed in the post? wont have done it any good. otherwise it could be just seated wrong on one of the ends.

oh and 6psi sounds like safety boost so it may also be a totally un-related prob but considering you just changed the pipe, that makes it suspect.

what do you mean by seated wrong?

check the clips etc are all tight on all the front pipes could be you have a leak there somewhere you could also have a problem somewhere else totally unrelated causing the car to safty boost, although as a extra measure disconnect your battery for a hour so the ecu can reset itself then try the car again

i will try that thanx how quick should a standard 300 zx be ? it pick up well at about 3000 rpm and kepps accelerating but the boost doesnt really seem to last long compared to other turbo cars ive had

boost is around 10psi stock

mine just doesnt seem that quick any thing you can suggest to make mine a bit quicker without spending a fortune?

get it checked out by someone who knows what they are doing

 

most zeds just need setting up proprerly, then they are quick

 

try our traders section and see if there is a zed mechanic close to you, or find out when the next meet is and get along to yourlocal meet with other lads from this forum, they may have a quick look for ya if you ask them nicely :smash:

what sort of performance figures should i expect? car is slow off the line but quick once going just find that that neck snapping accelertion doesnt come until total kick down is this normal?

if it';s a tt then you are getting the LAG from the Turbo's...yes it's the norm..!!!
