Hi,

just wondered if anyone could tell me how to get my car to blow cold air (its not a stupid question  ) every time i turn the blower on all i get is hot air...the temp dial is set at 10, still i get nothing but hot air. The air con system has been removed by the previous owner so would this have anything to do with the problem?

any ideas?

cheers,

sean.

So are you saying that the standard air/vent system has been put in it's place, r did the original air con get put back?

Possible caurse..... For normal air/vent system....

The temp mixture control isnt connected to the dial! Or maybe a faulty unit was installed.

For Air-Con system....

Not really sure...... Fault Diagnosis For Air-Con System

Or get someone with ConZult to pop it on for you (If you're going to Japfest" tomorrow I could do it for you, but let me know tonight, as I don't plan on taking the laptop with me)

if the air con is gone then you are just getting the air hot or cold straight from outside and the engine....

so your car going to be hot most of the time inside.....

Had any work done lately under the drivers dash area? ..alarm or general auto electric's ? check the two heater ducting behind the knee crash pad, they both have duct sensors in them, these often get forgotten when put back and if left disconnected will give the symptoms your having.

If one (or sevaral) of the temp sensors are faulty (or disconnected) you will get "very hot air". I had one sensor disconnected for a few weeks a few years ago when I replaced the heater matrix and the heater was on "full" until I got the sensor reconnected. Run a "AC diagnostic" and you will get info about which senor(s) that may be faulty. The diagnostic only takes a few minutes and will point you in the right direction.
