Can anyone tell me why,when i select the power button,my auto gearbox refuses to change out of first gear?I have heard that keeping it in hold all the time,knackers the box up eventually.Any ideas chaps and chapesses? :cry:

Sounds like you've got it on 'Hold' and not 'Power'

Hold starts in second gear and should change up early. If you're hitting the limiter in 1st in Power mode and it's still not changing up, that's not right at all. :(

 

You could try an autobox diagnostic.

 

Never heard of Hold damaging the box though. I would have thought that, if anything, it would put less stress on the box and the box would last longer.
