Well it only started yesterday it had been parked for 4 days when i started it i could here one lifter tapping,drove it for a while then it went and was fine for the rest of the day.

Now i have started it again and same thing till it warms up any ideas lads 1990 tt .

As above, looks like you answered your own question, I'd go with the advice of an oil and filter change fellar.

Thanks guys things always seem to happen when you dont drive them :)

What grade oil are you currently using. I use to run 10/40W & started to suffer from lifter tapping badly. Now I use 15/40W which has helped quiet them down :)
