Here's a strange one. My car will completely cut out while I'm going along. Although it only seems to happen when I'm parking or pottering along. When I start it up again it's fine??

It's only done it about 3 times in 3 months but I'm worried it may get worse. Any ideas??

I would certainly check the cable from your PTU to your CAS unit on the front of the engine as they tend to suffer from corrosion. A good clean up will eliminate that area. It could also be your PTU as the early ones were prone to failure when hot.

i had a similer thing also had slight misfire now and then checked coil pack connectors ptu etc, turned out to be the ecu temp sender (left side connector) all fowled up with the dredded green shite, its the 1 with the yellow connector skrewed into the top water pipe that you can see going into the front of the engine, cleaned this now runs sweet

yea, sounds like a PTU, where in the SE are you?

I'm in Cambridge mate. Is the series 1 PTU the silver one, and the series 2 the black one?

I did do a clean up on the PTU and Cas recently but it did it again last week. May be PTU then.. Although I'm not to sure about my coil packs. Looking for another set at the moment.

Thanks mate. I've got a new sensor and connectors. I think it's looking like the PTU.
