Distilled water and anti freeze.

I just pulled the bottom hose off cause the plastic drain plug as too tight and I didnt want to snap it. Theres also two drains on the engine block, but im not sure where they are. Its on the online manual, but the pictures dont make much sense to me.

ok the bottom hose it is then cheers.

dont touch any plugs on the block :wack:

secondly get car up to temp, jack up car place on axle stands, remove lower cover if its there. and carefully undo lower rad hose and pull it off watch your face when it pours out, secondly i would recomend removing the rad and cleaning it through, you will be surprised how much silt/rust sits in the bottom, attach hose pipe to top metal intake hose on engine and flush through until comes out lower return, that way your cleaning the engine through, top up a mixture 50-50 of water and antfreeze and bleed systym

Oh Right Thanks For That Gregg Its Off The Road At The End Of This Month Until Next Summer Anyway So I've Got Plenty Of Time Thanks For Your Help.

Sorry to disagree with Gregg here, but the ratio of anti freeze specified in the 300zx owners handbook is 90% Glycol based antifreeze to 10% water.

There are two reasons for this.

1. Is the rate that heat is exchanged from coolant. ie helps keep your engine cooler.

2. it raises boiling point to 160 degrees centigrade which stops water boiling in the block and heads (which stops hot spotting)

3. It lubricates the pump and extends officient life.

4. It protects to -50 c

5. Finally it stops kenetic energy created by the engine from using the water system as a conductor which inturn causes corrosion of the water jackets, Heater Matrix which cloggs the Rad with crap and reduces efficiency.

Alchol and benzine based coolants don't provent the about and break down very quickly.

Glycol based coolants are often known as long life/ Summer or Artic coolants and are usually Pink or yellow in colour.
