Would it be possible, has any body carried this type of work out!

Been thinking of getting hold of a Ferrari Daytona kit and thought these engines could be a better option then a rover or jag ..being lighter and more compact.

Have always liked the kit [probably from watching all those miami vice re-runs]

and i have possibly sourced a "UNFINISHED PROJECT"

Cheers

Dave

if your going to put it on a ferrari kit car.. then you need to ensure it is a front mounted engine area... otherwise you will end up with loads of issues if you try to mid mount or rear mount the engine itself.

It can be done yes..... but there will be ALOT of work ahead of yourself.. and alot of customer fabrication.....

Oh yeah and you will also have to be very carefull of how you adapt the gear box... putting a engine on a subframe is the easy bit.. or making the mounts to go onto say... a mr2.. but to have it so that the drive axel works... and is not in danger of ripping apart is another issue...

good luck....

Don't see why not. You will need the engine, ecu and harness. Possibly also relay box and fuel pump control unit. Of course you could always go with stand alone aftermarket ECU....

I'd be surprised if the VG30 is lighter, it weighs about 300000000000 tonnes!

VH45 or Chevy LS6 would be a better bet TBH and give you nice V8 rumble.

No lag either and both are lighter then the VG30

S8Busa Twin Turbo

This is a kit comprising of a block, crank, loom and ECU. You then have to sorse 2 Hyabusa 1300 Turbo engines and bolt top end of the hyabusa engines staight on to the kit. plug in the ECU and loom Strap on the Gearbox of choice and away you go.

Make the VH45 look real fat and heavy.

If you got loads a wonga you could go for a Hart V10.

I should know, I import them from Japan...:D ;)

You got your car stripped for painting then?

Getting there mate. Everything bar the bay and dash is long gone. Need another visit to remove said dash and deal with the remaining parts in the bay. "Might" be radically changing the rear, so she's not ready for paint just yet ;)

Pace have got one of the ?revtec? V8's in a caterham. Its basically 2 busa engines on a common crank case. Makes about 385bhp @ 14,000 I think. Needs rebuilds every 30 hours though. Apparently you can't actually breath when you floor it
