I hate these 'automated receptionist' or whatever they're called when you call someon like your bank or insurance company and have to listen to a slow list and then choose an option with your phone buttons.

I'm thiking of making my own recordings for popular questions I get asked by people on the phone after I've gone through their automated receptionist.

So when they ask me question I could just press a button relating to my pre-recorded answer (on my computer or a digital dictaphone or something) and put the phone by a speaker and see how they like it.

I could read out my address v...err....yyy sl..oww...y followed by a prolonged legal statement and tell them I'm recording the call as I basically don't trust them.

Or another message I could play to them could be... "I... f...orr....g...ot... w...hhh.aa.t... myy... pa..s.s....w..orrr....ddd i...ssss c...annnn... y...ooouuuu.... re...m..i..nn.ddd.. me .............a....ss..... IIiiiiiiii.... c...aaa...nnnn.ttttt..... reee....mmmm...e.....mmmm.bbbeerrrrr...... wwwwhhha...tttt....... ittt..... iss....."

Bet they don't like it up them!

Cornhill Insurance is the worst...you spend ages going through the automated system and when you finally get to speak to a person, it's someone in India who can barely speak a word of english. 9 times out of ten they can't answer your query anyway, so they have to place you on hold while they ring through to their supervisor in England to get the answer!?!

It's called IVR...

try ours.... it really sucks ....

and the worst thing is coz i'm sat @ option 1 & 1 (commercials) ........ lazy folk dont listen to the options and just press...... 1 & 1 then they like - oh i wanted insurance or ATO's or accounts or Cars....

GRRR

I cant stand those things, thats one of the reasons why I changed to a Premier Account (Lloyds), I have my account managers personal mobile number for mega important stuff, and for the more mundane things I have a number which goes to a team (of humans) who are there purely to deal with inquiries with my type of account, they usually pick-up after the first ring - its fookin ace!!!!!!!!!!

I bank with First Direct - not even a hint of automated answering things or Indian call centres - just straight through to a person anytime, whenever.

Can't fault them at all

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

that woman on those automated systems shes a whore i tell you, well so every one keeps telling her

what i hate is the " your call is important to us and a operator will be with you shortly" messages, if the call was so damned important you would employ enough call centre staff in the first place to answer it you fecks

Ha I got one for you. PAYBACK TIME.

I lost my mobile (there is a funny story here but im not telling you lot... ever) a couple of sundays ago. Thats OK I have like for like top cover insurance with T-Mobile. So off I trot down to the shop. Get the woman in the shop to phone through to get a new SIM, sorted. Ahh I think its much easier if they do it.

Then I have to come back after 3 days for some reason or other, not a problem.

Come back, claims sorted, tehy ring up... you can hear it, Dial 1 for.... Your call is important...... 20 minutes go buy and shop assistant just keeps telling me... sory this shouldnt happen to shop staff.

1 hour later she gets through, explains my phone is not made anymore and i need another one with same functions..... Now the fun starts.

Insurance person. You need to do this that and that, girl ok, can you wait to see if its processed correctly. insurance. No sory, beeep. she hung up.

Guess what It wasnt done right. so now I have a fullfilled order for a phone they dont have and dont make.

Girl. Back to insurance........ Your call is important ...... 40 minutes later.

They now start to argue about who fooked up, she get directed to a area mannager, still arguing. she has to ring this person........ Your call is important.......

In the middle of the shop she says ratehr loudly.

I HATE THESE ****ING CALL CENTERS

its her company shes ringing. can you imagine how tough it would of been if I had done it?

Upshgot is, its been a week and I still dont have a phone as they are arguing as to who has to produce a chit out of their budget. My phone is listed as £500 so neither want to and I have told the shop that I want it sorted by monday or they can also have the bill for me havingto take another afternoon off to get it srted.

I would rather spend 10 minutes trying to use the button press things than end up in the 3 mobile pakistan call centre.

A dare anyone to try and work out what "Roger" is trying to say and manage to get what you want without them trying to sell you something

ARRRRRGGGHHHHH

call centres eh, sat in one of the bleeding things now lol!!
