Im trying to write some .ASP but i have XP home (and therefore cant install IIS - and im not following that dodgy windows 2000 method!). are there any free web hosts out there that i can upload aspx up to? ive not had much luck in my search.

i need to learn ASP.NET to stand half a chance of getting a job. (i also have php and cgi books too, and VB.NET, and Javascript, and Flash 5, and Perl, and, and... :wack: :wack: :wack: ).

i also spoke to a mate of mine whos a network manager - he suggests setting up my old computer (which is currently residing, upside-down, in my clothes cupboard) as a web server, and buy [cough] Win XP Pro. then network the two computers together.

that's if i cant find a free web hosting site that'll compile ASPX.

You can create and debug websites in VS2005 without having IIS installed. Never tried running it on XP home though. This should be suffient for educational purposes, though obviously not so good if you want to actually publish the site.
