That would be an unusual way of wiring it in.

What did the instructions say?

The red and black are fine it's just the instructions were not clear so am not sure if the violet and yellow are the right way around.

Instructions are not on me but I've seen them posted on here by someone, just trying to find them now.

Surely that's wrong then!!

You have to cut the wire that comes from the speed sensor and connect it to the Yellow wire.

The Violet wire then takes the 'corrected' signal to the speedo.

There is another diagram which came with instructions which shows the violet connection (as in pic) as "Signal IN" and the yellow connection as "Signal OUT"

Please note, I am using the top picture as reference, it doesn't mean it's wired properly.;)

Hope that makes sence.

That usually means IN and OUT of the convertor though.

According the the link pic, that says the YELLOW is the IN and the VIOLET is the OUT.

Even more confusing.

My point exatcly LOL

Ahah!!

That shows you have to cut one of the tracks and solder the two convertor wires directly to the PCB.

That's probably the best method.....................but only if you're really good at soldering!!

So basicaly I would have to cut the track and use the yellow and violet wires to make a bridge through the module right?

If so which track and which wire first?

Speed sensor being the Speed OUT on the diagram, right?

Speed sensor being the Speed OUT on the diagram, right?

I don't understand that bit.

I've never seen one connected to that point before.

Exactly what does it say on the (crap) instructions?

feck me those instructions are boggy

cut the wires rather than damage your board and connect the converter to the wires mate

  • Author

Well even though it looked more complicated, I went with this diagram, the wires had to be cut at rear rather then soldering the wires on the track etc.

Job Done

Thanks for your help.
