I want to hold it when I drop the front cross member, but where do I sling it from?

the nissan book says you make a bracket and pull it from the side of the plenum but we always rope it under the rear and the crank pully and never had any issues

I gotta take the sump off. Will that be an issue? Im taking the oil pump off, so obviously I cant sling round the crank.

just use 2 small chains, amd wrap them around the tubes of the plenum, best thing is to have a look on TT.net wealth of source if you look

as your only holding the engine to drop crossmember its not like your hauling engine out

Remove the coil packs and thread a rope under the intake runners on the plenum on each side. Just watch it doesn't slide and interfere with the fuel rails ;)
