Got a silver zed and I can see (especially in bright sunlight) that it's kind of faded on the bonnet. Like the silver is turning white or something. Not sure how to explain I should take a picture of it.

Any idea what this is? Or if T-cut can sort it out?

Cheers,

Al

Ive seen T-cut revive pink cars back to there former red glory so I expect its worth giving it a try first. Cheaper than a respray at least :)

Remember to buy the metalic paint version though - the regular stuff could make it worse......

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

cheers guys will give that a look. Before I do though, I have some t-cut colour fast (the ones that come in different colours), does this work in a different way than standard t-cut or would I be re-buying the same thing? Suffice to say the colour fast one doesn't seem to anything to the colour.

bet you if you used that cloth it would buff up your bonnet in no time!!!

:D thought at least I would have got a warning from the mods for that link by now :D .

Need to see a pic before I can give any advise, Metallic silver paints don’t fade because they reflect light, the clear lacquer on top can go yellow. If it is lighter it might be fine scratches which can make it look lighter, try some T-cut on a small corner to see if it makes any differents. T-cut will get the scratches out but it will make it look hazy, use a car wax for a high gloss finish.

Mine is doing the same but not going yellow its going milky, I find the more I put polish on the more it vanishes, but then slowly comes back.

I put some of t-cut on and it has worked in places but I'm not really sure if I'm putting it on right. Anyone know if you got to just rub on then rub off or really go at it?

When you put T-cut on it’s not easy to rub off. Rub the T-cut on a small area in a circle until you start to see a shine, wipe as much off as you can (there will still be some on there) then use a car wax. http://www.motor-world.co.uk/show_prod.php?prod_id=4556 T-cut is not a wax so you must put a wax on there.

when I rubbed it off it came off in a powder just like any car wax. I wouldn't say it was hard to get off so maybe I'm doing it wrong? How long do you have to rub before you see the shine? And how hard do you have to press? Cheers

Is this the red T-cut? It’s the only stuff that will put a shine on the paint work. Do it quite hard but don’t go mad cause this stuff cuts into the finish. What I meant by hard to rub off is it makes the finish look hazing; it doesn’t look like high gloss. That’s were the wax polish comes in. It doesn’t matter if the T-cut makes it look patchy the wax polish will sort this out. This is my car which I re-sprayed, I used 1200 wet & dry on a cork block to rub it down (you don’t need to use the wet & dry) then used the T-cut to buff it up. The T-cut is strong enough to buff it up from a sanded finish so you should be able to get shine on there, then it was just the wax on top of that. Check out the comments on my finish.

The car looks fantastic mate. Gives me hope ;) Yeah I used the red metallic t-cut. I'll have another try and make sure I put on the other stuff afterwards. Thanks for the advice.
