Hi Friday,

Could you post your photos of your battery relocation and any notes you have which may help, did you have an emergency charge point or anything like that?

Also, a few of your engine would go down a treat!

Cheers fella,

John

Oh yeah, I'm thinking of the Deta 900 (I think!) deep cycle, any opinions. What did you use?

Alright mate, happy to help :) Yup, if you're going to relocate the battery it makes sense to go for something better. I needed something that would keep the car juiced but also run my (modest) install without breaking a sweat. I originally looked at the Exide Maxima 900 but after talking with some of the guys on the TalkAudio site I went for a Deta Orbital deep cycle battery (as you might know, it has the same tech spec but is much cheaper ;))

I ordered mine from R. Thursby's http://www.auto-electricals.co.uk/acatalog/deep_cycle.html, who I highly recommend for their great customer service and prompt delivery!

Using lengths of iron, myself and a mate made up a cage for it to sit in, in the boot and I ran heavy duty cable underneath.

An emergency charge point is also a VERY good idea, particularly if, like me, the car is de-handled and de-locked ;) I made sure the external points were out of the way and not easily visible.

The photo below shows the battery before the quick release clamps were fitted.

Hope that's been a help chap! Oh...and I've tagged on a couple of shots of the VH45DE as well, as it was when it first arrived and after a fair bit of work :)

Thanks very much for that mate, I was looking at Thursbys site myself, good to hear they're recommended.

Tell you what, seeing that engine is making me pretty tempted, think the cost will rein me in though!!!

Cheers again, will give you a shout if I have questions.

Depends what level you want to take it to...it's not as pricey as you might think, and I know a man who can get hold of good engines...;)
