My daily run about has started to really overheat.

I fill the expansion tank with water, but within a few minutes it's gurgling away and the temperature gauge has shot up to the top.

There's also no heat coming out of the heater, or there's a little bit for a few minutes then blows cold air.

Any ideas?

Yep, infact it sprayed all of it's oil all over the road as well. Great.

It could be the thermostat stuck closed, or the water pump knackered? this will THEN cause the head gasket to go if you let it overheat badly, so not deffo. I wouldn't expect it to spray oil over the road unless it very drastic. It would just get water in the oil or vice-versa. Check the oil cap for creamy stuff.

Thermostat and waterpump are usually quite an easy job. I did my BMW tow slag in an hour or two and its done 2500miles since :)
