hiya guys i hav discovered that i dont hav a vry nice knockin noice at low revs! on start up and idle, its a bit worryin as i think i mayb bottom end bearings :eek:, has anyone else had this problem? its like something is loose!!! regards andy M3 drivers who do they think they am

have you checked oil?lack of oil could mean the top end is lacking oil,and lifters are struggling to fill

 

could be a stuck lifter causing a top end knock,and as its a twin cam per bank you have lifters opposed to tappets,lifters can sound like a knock,if its a bottom end rattle/knock you can get car up and use a thin screwdriver or mechanical stephascope and listen to the bottom end at idle,then you may find your answer

Zed's are know to suffer from "lifter tapping". Does it only happen when cold? There are products you can add to the engine oil that should help clean all the gunk that could be blocking your lifters etc... you need to do a oil change soon after adding it. So could be a good idea to do that also.
