know why it feels as tho my rear wheels are turning when i go over bumps. my car jumps from side to side terribly. when i jack the rear wheels up i can turn the wheels about 5 degrees. it feels as tho the wheel bearing is fooked but it has previously been suggested that it could be worn shockers (they are very worn) or hicas arms. what are all these other bushes and are they worth replacing. pictures attached

i assume the 1st picture is the hicas arm, obv the 3rd picture is the shocker. what are pics 2 and 4 and could these bushes cause my prob. also is it likely to be my wheel bearing?

if there is play side to side, then it is prob the HICAS arms or the outer bushes in the hub which the hicas arms bolt on to.

next question, where do i get hicas arms and outer bushes and how much? can the outer bushes be replaced

ooooh if you need some suspension i might know someone with ohlin coilovers with adjustable rear dampening. ;)

Try MJP eastern on the traders section.

im no mechanic but si-z had the same problem, more noticeable over bumps, it was his rear wishbone i think.

whats wrong with my rear calliper? stop picking on my car lol. with regards to the wishbone how would that be fixed?

sorry just an observation as the brakes arn't that good on a z anyway and wone that isn't working correctly is potentially dangerous. sorry bud :(

your rear caliper needs a bit of help too by the looks of it :(

Had that on mine, so i got hold of a service kit from MJP, which includes the piston seals and spring clips, I also had new shims, pads, pins etc, oh, and new pads, and if your discs are scored get new discs as well. It's all straight forward, and there are a few on-line How-To guides as well to help you.

Incidentally I'm no mechanic either, but with the help of the guys on here and a few How-To's, so far I've managed a 60k service (cam belt etc) and serviced all my brakes. If you can read and you know one end of a spanner from the other then it's straight forward :)

HTH

the car has been standing for a year without moving very far so there is a chance they have seized up now. just done the front brakes a few weeks back. so back to the wobbly whell problem ......

its more than likley your hicas arms if you jack the car up and rock the wheel at the quater to three position .try and get someone hold the hicas arm if you feel movement theres your proplem .on the shocks try and see if there is any evidence of leaks

the cost

hicas arms arround £65 each

shocks £30-£40 each

hope this helps
