Yes and yes. Technically in two. I do all my stuff with my best mate of about 20 years. He works with me on my project, "The Few" (guitar/electronica) and I work with him on his, more beats orientated "Del Piero". Funnily enough I was going to post asking if anyone had any connections with recording studio's. We're both into home recording (him more so than me...generally use his set-up!) but I'd like to get some studio time in about 2 months with an engineer on hand to lay down drum tracks and keep it all together. After years of being in hospital I'm now finally well enough to really give this thing a good go so I recently got back in contact with a guy I was in another band with at school (the most phenomenal left handed guitarist...very Jimmy Hendrix!) and he's interested in coming along and doing some freebie session work (I'm a bit sentimental about stuff like that, would be nice to do it with the guys I started with :)) so just need a cheap/free studio now! (If there's such a thing! :( :))

Yep lead guitarist in a pop/rock covers band called 'The Whereabouts'

Lol! Thought it was a bit weird when we got talkin' round your gaff a while back mate! (lucky sod for knowing Kate Bush...she was a hottie back in the day ;) BTW, check out Placebo's cover of Running Up That Hill...tremendous :D)

pk1: Si! Totally forgot about your talents behind a desk! (mixing that is...:D). Fancy helping out a couple of struggling muso's sometime? Will clean dishes for studio time! :wack: :D ;)

Your telling me. He interviewed her at my old house in Sale, Manchester. That was some place. We had a huge rehursal studio in the Basement. We'd be banging the tunes out and three doors down Tom Jones was having Voice coaching at Dorothy's. Head had some problem or other. It was Surreal to come out for a breather and hear Tom Jones knocking it out nextdoor, but one.

Rock 'n' roll! :D Just don't tell me anyone tried fitting a foil wrapped cucumber down their trollies or discussed having a papier mache replica of stonehenge made for set dressing, ok? :wack: ;)

I write and compose and program and sequence my own tracks just for personal enjoyment... Just started messing around with "Reason" at the moment... Very impressed with it but find the sequencer a bit fiddly... I suppose i'll get used to it eventually!

Wow this thread has taken off without me knowing. I was interested as in my experience there's always a few musicians around without you knowing.

I've only ever been in a studio once and to be honest although it was fun I was less than impressed with the results. I record everything on my computer and it's ok for now. I personally feel that the quality is better than what I've heard when bands I know show me their studio demos.

I'll be checking out some of the aforementioned websites now.

My music is at,

I know some of you have heard it before.

Really like this music! Lovely guitar sound too. Trying to place what the voice reminds me of. Kind of like Morrissey crossed with someone who I can't think of at the moment. What are the songs called though? number 2 is 'So unpredictable' maybe? the words 'So impractical' in the chorus is very morrissey! Like it. Post the titles if you can.

ha, thanks Alfo!

a lot of people have also said morrisey crossed between someone else!

the singer in the band is also the drummer so he's not quite there with the singing yet, but it gives it a bit of a different sound!

track number one is Smile, track to is So Unpredictable! spot on!

you're the singer of your band i take it? i like the melody of 'i'll never know'. quite emotional!

p.s...how do you get on this myspace thingy, youre profile is so easy to use!

I had a couple of recording in my late teens early 20's. I still play and sing regulary mainly at private function nowadays. Don't really have the time anymore. But the guitar comes out at least once a week still, we do a few jamming sessions as and when we can be bothered LOL

I don't have time to play any more but i play bass guitar, rhythm guitar, keyboard and backing vocals. My bro's a lead guitarist and a damn fine one at that. His band supported kasabian before they made it big at the shed in leicester.

I'm just about to become a sound technician for my mate's band in the next few weeks as a bit of a hobby for me :D

im a little different to the other musicians here, i'm a beatboxer (aka human beatbox etc)...

ie, making drum/scratching/bassline/sfx sounds with my mouth :) did a gig with Killa Kela (one of the best) in lithuania a few weeks ago. it rocked!

also play bass but not been in a band for TIME!

Been in some bands but mainly do home recording now. Made guitars that have been on TOTPs (WildHearts, The Music).

This is a picture of the WildHearts guitar I made for TOTPs.
