How would you feel if you were found not guilty and then they decided to have another go at you?

I'd want to know on what grounds cos if the case was tried incorrectly then people would always be pointing the finger saying I was guilty. Better to start again with a re trail and get it right.

there is video footage of him doing that speed. i don't care if he got away with it the first time and he "feels bad" because he's now going to retrial, he deserves the retrial, and he deserves to go down for it.

end of!

You only feel so strong because it was a police officer. Don't hear the same protests when a celebrity gets caught.

we all speed, i'm not saying i don't. and if i get caught then i fully admit i was in the wrong and was stupid enough to get caught.

BUT, if a policeman gets caught and doesn't get done for it, that's not right. hence why i complain about a policeman getting busted for it...

  They are not outside / or above the law they are there to uphold the law. Therefore they should expect to be punshed if proved to found braking it

lol nice appropriate mis-spelling of "breaking" there miss :)

However if you were caught speeding by a police officer then you would feel that they should be out catching real criminals!

Not one of you can put hand on heart and say your opinion is unbiased.

i remember years ago, a man was selling ferrari f40's and he filmed himself doing 200 mph to show the customers how the car performed, he was caught and punished

i may be biased, but he got caught and should therefore be punished, and you cant tell me its common practice to thrash a car to its limit everytime the force get a new car, then tell everyone its to get a feel of the car

What vectra could do 159mph at the time he was done?

V6 Twin Turbo. Used to be the 220 BHP 2.5 they used in the flagship Kalibra (or how ever you spell it) I believe the same lump has been bored out to 3.0ltr TT and 260 BHP limited to 160 MPH.

Came out with the latest shape about 2 years ago.

For what its worth His excuse for blantantly braking the law was pathetic.

I think regardless of status in life, Celebrity, Average joe or copper you speed and there is evidence you should be punished.

I have been nicked for speeding in the past and although i find it totally frustrating that i was caught just over the limit. i was over the limit end of argument.

take the penalty and shut up.

Now this copper got off with it and as such should be subject to a retrial as the message sent out from his previous sentance just caused a massive upset with the likes of us ie the general public who pay for public service workers to be able to maintain and uphold the law.

YOU LEAD BY EXAMPLE.

There my 2 pence worth for what its worth.

:duffer: :)

I bet it weighs about 3 tons with those stupid folding seats tho!

Dun no, but they've gone back to the Volvo T5's Which I think are awesome cars. Not much to stay with them from 60mph to 140mph and if chipped by RICA they pull 320BHP and 475 pounds per Foot or inch or newtons squared or what ever it is they mesure it by (Alot of torque) The new S40 T'5 RS is 4 wheel drive and 450 BHP straight out the box. That must be a serious monster.

Thats the baby

Pritty sure it was December O5. I remember because the M54 isn't that far from me.

did you see the top gear road test of them? Stupid amount of understeer.

So now you know how to get away from the copper in one of those - go round a bend!

dont say that, you will get coppers videoing themselves doing handbrake turns then telling everyone its to get a feel of the cars going round corners with the handbrake on :x:

Whilst the police officer should be setting an example to the rest of us, I think it is far worse when some jumped up celebrity (like Beckham etc :x: ) gets off with speeding.

Afterall, this copper was supposed to be an experienced driver. Whereas a celebrity just happens to have a fast car.

At the end of the day, he did wrong and unless he has sirens on and was attenting an emergency (which he wasn't) then he must face the consequences.

I also know that many of us have "tested" our cars on public roads and gone undetected. Whilst I see no harm in doing 150mph on an empty, straight motorway in clear dry conditions in a car more than capable of handling the speed, it is still illegal. We may do it once or twice but we know the consequences should we get caught, therefore if a copper (or celebrity) does the same thing then he must face the same punishment as you or I.

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
