Greetings,

Can someone please comment on the plus and minuses of using the above. Basically wanted to know the difference between them and which system is the more popular etc. Please excuse my ignorance but I have never used/seen anyone of the above thus know virtually minimul. I am thinking of purchasing one and didn't know which one to get.

Any recommendation please ?

Cheers...

Conzult can report all ECU error codes (though u can do that by counting light blips of a certain light on the dash). It does O2 sensors, MAF sensor, idle adjustment. HICAS sensors. Basicaly any sensor in the car the conzult can interpret the signals. I have one. Its a good proactive maintenance tool :)

Both Conzult and Datascan perform the same main functions.

They will read Error codes and display the output of all the sensors read by the ECU with datalogging abilities. You can also perform advanced tests such as adjusting timinging and idle, switching off Cylinders..etc

Conzult (£265) - is a better Workshop/Garage tool, as it offers additional features that may be used by a specialist, such as Hicas and Aircon Diagnostics.

Datascan (£75) - is a better end user tool. Its better as a driving aid, allowing you to view all the sensors in easy to see Anaglog gauge format while driving.. It also has functionality for measuring vehicle Performance(0-60mph...etc)

As said above really, datascan is a nice drivers tool, but if you really wanted to get deeper into fault /maintenance work on the zed conzult is more suited. Datascan allows you to see whats going on in a user friendly way but doesnt offer the same functions as the conzult.

I went for datascan as it more than meets my needs of seeing how the zeds sonsors are working and is nice and user friendly (for the most part)

is that all conzults cost. i thought it was much more than that

You can build your own conzult, search the forums. But i suppose you need a very steady hand with a soldering iron and be decent with electronics which i aint.

datascan for me. looked a conzult and was more money for not much more.

still dont understand what teh thing is telling me though, so although I can probably see the problem, I cant do anything about it as I dont know if its a problem.
