Outrageous!

FFS I don't see why car manufacturers should have to pay for airbags to work on people without seatbelts at all, let along put extra complication in to determine their weight, age, hair colour, shoe-size, no. of facial and/or body piercings , etc

The rest of the world should just say *****cks to crazy US litigation and just get on with building cars.

I think the law should be if you don't wear a seatbelt your airbag won't go off. that should weed the morons out of the gene pool.

Hear Hear, Mark.

If the Yanks don't like foreign cars then they should stick to the shit-boxes of their own domestic market.

Oh but no, they realized their cars were shit a long time ago, so they import the finest from Japan and Europe; then want to legislate so that foreign manufacturers ruin their own cars just for the US market

Surely not many Veyrons will find their way to the US anyway; not only that but if the safety features are good enough for the EC market - where we drive harder and faster on more congested roads - why can the US not accept it??

Most yanks are so fat now anyway that they have their own supplementary restraint system...... :x:

Richard :D

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

lmao have you read some of the replies to that thread?? :D :D

Wearing seatbelts interferes with burger eating. Also I expect a lot of them are too fat to get the seatbelt on.

And relax, deep breath and walk away from the topic

disgrace! why should the manufacturers pay for the public's stupidity? WEAR YOUR FRICKIN' SEATBELTS YOU MORONS!!!

Bing! Spot on that man! Completely agree.

LOL. It really is unbelievable.

I did hear a story once, and I've no idea whether or not this is an urban legend, which it could well be, about this guy who'd bought a Winnebago motor home type thing.

Anyway he's driving along the highway and realises he needs the loo. So what does he do? He switches on the cruise control, gets up and goes to the loo and leaves the thing to drive itself along the road. Predictably enough it leaves the highway, crashes and rolls over. So the guy then sues the makers of the vehicle because they didn't tell him you couldn't do that!!! I think he might have won as well.

Absolutely unbelievable. Only in America as they say.

No myth it's true and they won. Now the instructions concerning cruise control are more explicit. LOL

I don't see why a person should have to wear a seatbelt if they don't want to but anyhow, the car manufacturers should just say b*****ks to the Americans!

Nevermind the car makers, we should ALL say *****cks to them.
