where do i get jets for 16 psi?

Featured Replies

Don't know what turbos you are running but you do not want to run 16psi on stock turbos!

0.8mm for 16psi, but jets are a little like loose cannons if you know what i mean and you can easily spike up to 18/19!!!

BANG!!!

i recently had mine on the rollers and altho i thought i had 14psi jets in (done before i got the car) mine boosted to 17psi...

this doesnt answer your question, but thought u might be interested,,

got 1 mm in now and got 14 psi on guage. have fmic 555's and stock tubs. very rarely boot it. but i have an overfueling issue and the extra 1 psi might solve it and make the flipping engine stop coughing

on stock injectors maybe, but bigger injectors have no probs.

I know of 1 stock engined Z with stock turbos and 555's running 19psi and foooook me does it go!!

Anyway, Nelson, buy a Boost controller!! Youve spent way too much cash on your Z to cheapen it with jets! :D

Yes I agree and some 19" wheels.

On a 270 degree bearing your stock turbo"s lifespan will be severly reduced at anything above 15 psi it is not only a fuelling issue, there is also the issue of charge temp when using the older design of garrett turbo.

All these things are about risk and if you can afford to experiment or run your zed into the ground go for it.

I'm with topless on this. Ran some experiments on mine with 555's, greddy coolers, stock turbos and the air flow into the engine on high revs actually drops off past about 15psi as the compressors get inefficient.

Does feel more puncy in mid-range at ~17 but IMO not worth the extra risk of detonation at high revs due to increased charge temps.

I got a profec. but no point in fitting it as im gona get an AEM

If you have an overfueling problem, I doubt whether more boost will help as the ECU will recognise the greater engine load and just increase the fuel more. I would get your base maps sorted before you do too much more.

ive never had a perfect map done yet, and there not the sort of thing i can pop down the road and get sorted either.

This missfireing is realy pissing me off though. and thats on top of the brakes.

Dave, if it's missing at high revs you sure plugs are OK and you don't have a boost leak anywhere? To overfuel to the point of missfire you have to really dump fuel in and I can't see any map being that rich!

Hi Bud

ive got the AEM but i still run a boost controller :)

yes the AEM can run a boost map but i prefer to be able to control my boost where as you would get the AEM mapped with the boost and then thats it its set!! so in my case if i did that it would run at 1.6-1.7 bar all the time which i dont want so with my controller when i switch it off it runs at 1 bar and i have a 1.3 and 1.6 bar setting on my boost controller

just means you have control mate

Mike

ahh

dint know that

Plugs where recently checked.

Boost leak, thats something I havent thought of, or been able to check.

yep anything above 1bar of boost and injectors and turbos are at max duty cycle, even with 555s and map the turbos are ineffiaciant after that

Whats am AEM? Your queue to jump on me i think lol

AEM is a engine management unit. Does more or less everything.

Apparently not boost though

Actually Chris it does boost as well, but most people that have it keep a boost controler for more flexability.

why would you want to have 2 boost controlers?
