Simple questions on changes made to the Zed design during its production. 1. Is series 2 from 93 onwards?

2. What are the differences from series 1 to 2?

3. Was there any further changes after series 2?

4. what does 99 spec mean?

5. when did Zed’s get airbags, and is it just one drivers side one?

5. I have seen some Zed’s with 2 point seatbelts in the back and some with 3 point belts. When did this change happen? Or is it a Jap/UK difference?

If someone could colour in the gaps and give me a full potted history of changes made during the design life of the car and differences in Jap and UK models, that would be great.

I believe 99 spec means the 1999 model. In America they made 300zx's up to 1999.

I think air bags were an option after 1993

The earlier 2+2 zeds (series 1) only had 2 point seat belts. The series 2 like mine has the 3 point seat belts, which does look a lot safer! Not that any of my friends want to sit in the oompa loompa size seats anyway.lol

This should answer some questions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/300zx#Z32

Also if you can get hold of the 'Nissan 300zx/350Z: The Z-car story' - that tells you absolutely everything about the making of the car :)

HTH

2000 In fact (japan) ;) , but in 1999 they added revised front bumper, rear lights, spoiler...and other changes including chassis strengthening and minor interior changes.

All UK cars and Series 2 onward Imports have 3 point rear belts.

I've got the 300zx-350z book at home and am pretty sure it said Jap stopped in 1996 and America stopped in 1999. I will check tonight :)

Its 1996 for America, and 2000 for Japan for end of production.

The last few z32's were sold in 2001 in japan.

Are you talking manufactured or imported ? ALL 300's were made on the same production line in Japan. I think they stopped importing to the US in 1996, they continued manufacturing for the local market until 1999/early 2000. So the very last ones may have been sold in 2001.

I was wrong. 1996 was the last year for the zed in America and Japan carried on making zeds until 2000 :)

I wonder how much a 2000 reg would cost now?
