I reckon Indian wants a GTO! There's 2 at work here, been sat for a year I'm trying to get my grubby mitts on.

lol :D I have no problem with them other than they're front wheel drive

I'm sure they're very nice people really lol

Thats the FTO, the GTO is the 4wd turbo jobbie.

How do they compare with a zed?

Isn't the GTO what was badged the 3000GT in the UK and 4WD?

Very nice if so.

The FTO's the FWD one I think.

Both were 4wd. The GTO is the JDM badged version and 3000GT is the UK yes,

I think Nick's getting confused with the FTO and GTO. FTOs are front wheel drive.

Both engines though, interestingly enough are mounted horizontally. VR4 engine does fit into an FTO....

Crappola, yep you're right i always get them mixed up lol  Flipping mitsus!

I like the gallant VR4 estate the most :)

That's the early versions. Later ones came with pop-up headlights. I think after 96 or 97?

I know most on here hate them as they are rivals and not as good, I like them as well and was looking at one. I've driven a few as well and think they are rather nice. They are a bit more 'in your face' looking than the smooth curves of the Zed.

brought

BOUGHT

I still can't believe the amount of people that still get these two words muddled up. Defies belief almost. ;)

Actually Bantum you are right in a way, there was a front wheel drive version of the GTO/3000GT released in the states as the base model and the SL, (also it didn't have turbos).

My brother had one, quicker than the Z to 60 but more expensive to service. I never liked the dash either, more dated IMHO.

That wasn't a Mitsubishi...based on the same car though. Was sold as a Dodge Stealth.

The Dodge Stealth was a car made to compete with the Zed. It had similar power, speed, mpg etc etc etc

I was always under the impression that the GTO was made to go against the zed, and again was very similar.

come on funk sell up mate :)

insurance on gto's iscrazy and parts but they still have the same road presence as a zed with the extra 4wheel drive for wet ad windy country roads. you can get a removable sunroof.

Actually it was made by Mitsubishi, the stealth is a captive import 3000gt/GTO, it was sold via. the Chrysler group who just stuck a different badge on (and made sure it had crap engines).

I didn't mean it in the literal sence, hence why I said it was the same car.

But, AFAIK, these were FWD V6s. Not the GTO/3000GT TT 4WD.

A customer of mine had a Black dodge stealth and it looked awsome,

Performance did not match its looks !!

I also looked at the Mitsubishi before buying a Zed.

The Zed is much better looking :)

Well I like GTO's we (Hubbie & I) nearly bought one but bought the REX instead in the end. I'd have one to add to our collection if we had the spare cash. It's about 3rd on our list of cars to add to our collection after the Honda NSX and a Westfield SE 8.
