Having a family barbecue this evening, told my sister in law she could take my car to drive her family home as she hadn't been drinking. Normally a good driver she managed to reverse it onto a high kerb and pulled rear bumper as she was driving away . I don't know if fibreglass can be repaired when it's been ripped apart......ouch. :( :( :( Luckily for her i'm pretty chilled as i've been enjoying the sun and beer all day :duffer:

She's pretty upset about it. Told her it's Ok and it's just a car

ouch but it should repair friend had fibreglass bumper and her ex did the same thing she was able to have it fixed without having to buy another bumper. Although the BMW garage wanted to make her buy a new bumper and another garage said no they'd mend it rather than replace it.

thanks. Last thing I want is try and import another bumper. Shipping costs are more than the bumper itself!

yopu can get it done. but be warned. the part that going to cause problems is whre teh screw fixings has been ripped away.

this might sound silly but the cost of repairing it would prob match buying a new one.

oh and youl need to take it to a place that realy knows how to play about with fiber glass.

To be honest you would probably be better off getting a new bumper .. esp on the rear of the car on the wingswest skirt u get a lot of wind resistance and after time the repair work could start to crack.. the labour charges alone would probably mount up to the same cost of a new bumper .. i have my own fibreglass workshop so im speaking from experience here

Nooooooooooooooo. Sad sight to see on my favourite Zed on the forum damaged. :(

Hope you get it fixed up soon mate.

thats easily repairable i do these type of repairs alot in my body shop and make body kits and custom parts for honda crx's in fibre glass, all that needs doing is the damaged areas need securing together with metal plates and rivet/screws, and new fibre glass laying once the fibre glass has hardened you remove the rivet/screws and prepare like you would with any body damage. i'd quote a job like that at £250 painted in standard nissan red

i think S tune has a similar bumper for sale, sorry your car got damaged I know how you feel

Mine rolled down a hill and into a metal fence (some prat forgot to put the handbrake on), got a few big cracks in it and bent the exhaust.

It cost £300 to get it all fixed, looks like new so you should be able to get urs sorted

You got loads of boats round you and most of them are made of fiberglass. you should have some good boat repairers round and about + the Guys that fix boats are really good fibergass guys. It'll proberbly be stonger than it was in the first place.
