On my way to USC this weekend (brilliant time btw) pulled in to a layby, and when i pulled out hard i lost 3rd and 4th gear!!

car would not change into 3rd at all. took it very easy got to the pod, left it parked up till sunday. Left the pod and gingerly put my foot down and lo and behold everythng is fine!!???!?!?!?!?!

any ideas..

was thinking about maybe draining the trans oil from the sump under the gearbox and refreshing it do you think this would help??

thanks in anticipation...

happened to me, new box is on the cards bud. in the mean time. Drain the gearbox oil, drop the gearbox oil pan and clean the filters and refill. might save it for another 1000 miles. but the damage is already done im afraid

what damage?? its been a bit odd on top gear changes ever since it was fitted..lol

what caused it??

anyone got a spare manual box?? lol think a conversion may be on the cards, how hard is it to do and what else needs to be done apart from changing the 'box??

Mine failed in similar way going to JAE

Just replaced Box this weekend.

Mine lost top reverse and first was like a rattle

First thing i would do is drain and flush the box and lines replace filter and oil and run it till it fails. :)
