Hi Guys

Not content with just rebuilding my own car I stripped Ronnies Zed today to fit a timing belt to find one of the Idler bearings very nearly seized and the other two pretty noisy. I spotted numbers on the bearings so pressed them out only to find there in a special housing with no hard stop cut in. I don't fancy trying to line these up by eye, so where can I get a bearing kit and much is it gona cost??

Craig

Craig,

I have just looked at Courtesy Nissan USA, was gonna ask if you'd looked at the workshop manual but I am guessing from Nissan anyway they aint available seperate from the link below.

Hi John and thanks for the reply

I can get the bearings no bother but they come separate for the inner and outer carrier "May cause line-up problems when pressing them in" just wondered if they could be bought on here. The power steering pump has packed in as well it's a 94 model "about half the size of the older unit" RiceRocket recons £200 ish for a rebuild :( .. Ronnies not to happy..

If it comes to the crunch I'll press them to fit but I'd rather just buy a set to bolt on "Mechanic Remember" :) The top unit has been replaced before and was nearly seized it was so lumpy I've no idea why it couldn't be heared with the motor running. Warning to everyone I guess !!!!

Perfect mate as he's planing on getting the belt back to you anyways.. Let me know what happens. I'll post pics of both units if required ..

Craig

bloody zeds, nowt ever easy on them. Craig, think i must have the NA pump fitted to mine. Did a search and basically the TT pump is two pumps the front unit working the steering and the rear unit the HICAS. Now on my 94 I dont have the HICAS solenoid(in the engine bay) which means that I have electronic HICAS but does the HICAS still not need the pump to work it? Or has my car had it removed.

Smithy, do you have a pic of the NA pump to compare?

Will give you a buzz tommorrow Craig.

cheers

ronnie

Right, more searching. Deffo have electric HICAS which doesnt work of the hydraulics of the pump. Which also means to eliminate it I have to just pull the fuse.

ronnie

(must go to bed....)
