Hey dude's I've got that good old crunching into 4th problem. After searching it seems the recommendation is change the gearbox oil to redline mt90 BUT, how long should this fix it for?

 

Basically if I'm gonna have to get it refurbed I might as well just do it now & roughly how much will a refurb set me back?

ooo gearbox refurb.. well heres the bad news, parts are rarer than rocking horse 5hit, you could try coz in the states but i know hes only got a few bits and pieces left, and can only source a few things now also. major gears are hard to find. however there is light at the end of the tunnel

Sounds like it's just the synchro rings. The gears themselves will be fine.

I got this crunch at high revs 4th/5th put redline MT90 oil in 8 months ago and it fixed the problem still ok now.

Dont gtr RB engined skylines use the same box back half as a zed apart from a diffrent bellhousing for V6.Or maybe rb25 gts/t not sure does anyone know for sure.

where can get the redline mt 90 oil and how much do i need? for my 91 swb tt manuel

Demon tweeks you need 3.1 liters of mt90 it comes in 1 quart containers which is the us measurement for 1 litre roughly .So you need 4 bottles and a syryenge to fill as there is not tube on the bottle.

I would change the oil and if you still have probs go from there.

change the oil mate it more often than not solves the problem, also have u got a short shifter? if so remove that as it doesnt help

So 1st step mt 90 & check the syncro rings, if that doesn't work I'm looking at a refurb / new gear box. I'll see what I can do.
