I was told 16x225 for the front and 16X245 for the rear, but at the moment I have 16x225 all round.

UK cars have 245/45 on the rear as they have 8.5" wide alloys on the back. Japanese imports have 225/50 as they have 7.5" wide alloys all round.

and all jap cars must have tyres on them made by lego lmao

And the direct translation of Lego into English is "Play Well"

Oh that's why in another thread someone was saying that they looked like they had UK tyres on the back.

What about tyre rotation? Surely the back ones wear quicker as it is rear wheel drive and therefore you would want to swap the backs for the front after a while?

So do UK zeds have better handling in the wet. Who am I kidding I bet they are equally as bad.

So can I buy a couple of UK wheels and be wider at the rear?

Yes. You can't though. ;)

Yes, you can do that. That's what I've done.

Some people have put 245/45 tyres on the standard j-spec rears too. Not sure how well they fit, but people have done it.

I don't think the handling in the wet is too bad, really. As Kirbz says, the japanese tyres are appalling and if you're changing from those to decent UK tyres, the difference is massive.

Thank for your help.

Just one last question - assuming I am going to stick with 225s all round - what Make would you recommend. I currently have Avon.

I personally like Bridgestone S03. Other people swear by Falken and they're a fair bit cheaper. Best to do a search as there are a lot of different opinions when it comes to tyres. ;)
