Hi,

I have found a nice looking N/A which I am going to look at tonight hopefully.

The questions I have are:

Does anybody have a buyers guide for these cars? or tips to what to look for?

Will I be disappointed with an N/A versus a TT?

Cheers

If you expect a fast car then an NA will dissapoint, no disrespect to them they are great cars but the straight line performance is distinctly average. Depends on what you want I guess, if you consider an NA because you want a car which is economical to run then don't test drive a TT because you will probably impulse buy something :p

you always buy my N/A, who needs performance when it looks like this

I have owned a TT and now have an NA. I would say I prefer the NA for a reliable, everyday drive with great looks and it's no slouch either. I am perfectly happy with the power and the NA engine sounds awesome. My TT was nothing but trouble and expense but I would love to have both. Top pipe on Rad cracking seems common on an NA but other than that...........

I drove a TT then bought an NA.

It's not the fastest thing in the world but I like it. And I wouldn't say the straight line performance is distinctly average.

lol, that little drag me and chunk got into with you in peterborough was comical, exactly matched for speed :D

Must say something about the weight difference in the SWB and 2+2, skinny guy with an empty 2+2 = SWB with 2 rather larger people and a load of gear in the back.

lol

I didn't realise we were racing - I was lighting a cigar and texting the wife!

I have a TT and NA, both manual. There is a huge difference in performance, especially the "feel" from inside the car. However the NA is still fairly quick and just as much fun to drive, sometimes more fun, especially round the twisties and roundabouts where you dont need to worry so much about the power biting back like in the TT.

But there is always the niggle in your mind that when your in the TT its unlikely you'll come across anything that could come close to beating you, but in the NA there are a lot of "regular" cars that could.

The NA is better on fuel around town, the TT better on fuel on the motorway. (due to gearing (TT revs lower at given speed) and TT is off boost on motorway)
