Just got back from ten of the best what a fantastic day never seen as many car in action, lots of 10 sec skylines and i belive at on the top speed run 203mph was acheived well impressed. Anyhow wasnt impressed in the car park there were abundance of evos,skylines,subarus,rx7s,cossies,dodge vipers ect ect... BUT NOT ONE 300ZX They all break down on the same day?where was evreybody? Cant belive out of 100 entries in the competion aswell no 300zx either? There was even honda crxs,corsas, and a mini clubman estate racing would of been nice to see a zed in the list.

Apart from that exellent day big thanks to kirbz for tagin along even though his sat nav was drunk

 

Most awsome car i saw was a mark 2 ford granada looking way standard badged up as a 2.8i and had hidden under its bonnet was lurking a 6.3 chevy LT1 corvette engine with supercharger and a little over 750hp.

Well there was a a few Dodge vipers at least 4,porche gt3 a corvette i belive they class as supercars and have entered almost evrey year.Porche was standard too.

 

 

...and probably about 100+ of everything else...I did just say 'hardly any'...which is correct as the majority of cars that turn up are big engined hatch backs or big power GTs.

mine was the red one in the car park, i saw only ONE other, a gunmetal one on the way out, was 2 cars in front of me, went towards York...

 

the scoobies and evo's etc have a FULL day at the drag strip to decide on a team for TOTB.. not sure if we could get enough cars for this, but i'm sure we could have a bitta fun if the committee had a word with the other Z clubs to arrange a Z only day at the drag strip????????

 

mines less then 400bhp, so wont be winning owt, but i'd LOVE to have a go...

 

a mate of mine has a twin GT28R turbo'd SWB slick top with a poorly turbo, when he gets that fixed he'd be up for havin a go also..

 

so, any milage in a Z day at elvington/wherever????

The black one belongs to my mate Daz. Just fitted some nice black/chrome Ultralites to it.

 

I was being a traitor for the day, and was pitting for the red RX-7, lol.

 

I'm not going to start moaning about the lack of Zeds, as I never even brought mine, but it would be great to have a team together for next year. Even just to be part of the team pit crew makes the event so much better, as you feel more envolved, and have a better idea of what's happening.

 

Daz and I, and possibly Paul, will be competing at Rotorstock next year. Not expecting to win anything, but would be nice to get some respectable times up there, and start improving the general perception of our cars.

 

As for the Supercar debate, I think the point was made......"Super Expensive", so, thankfully, I guess not then, lol, but who cares.

i was the gunmetal grey one, and saw only one other Z, a black one in the jam on the way out, shame to see so few but what would you rather have, Z's everywhere or you driving through a storm of evo's and scoobies in something unique on the day. i know what i prefer, i'd have a crack at totb, count me in if you do the team thing, not very tuned but it'd be fun.

It would be way cool to find the Blitz / Jun bonneville record car (record still stands 262mph two way Vmax). Hell I would buy it just to smoke TOTB.
