I've had many zeds in the past but for the 1st time I have just bought one with what looks like a mini ariel on the bumper. I've got no manual but I reckon is it's a visual parking aid. However when I try to raise it all i get is a mechanical sound but it stays down, much like a radio ariel that needs a new insert. Anyone know what it's called and how i can access the innards as there doesn't seem to be a locking/retention nut as there is with a radio ariel. Also, there is a parking distance sensor on the rear bumper but it is only one sensor and it's placed near the N/S corner of the bumper and it seems to only work at an angle of 45 degrees away from the car and not along the bumper or in a direct 90degree line. Hope this makes sense. Cheers, S

it is a parking guide mate, but no idea on how it works i'm afraid.

try removing the nose panel, see if you can access the back of it then.

have you a switch on your centre console too control it ?

Yes I have the switch in centre console and it's when I operate this switch I get the normal aerial extending sound but it wont raise.

may be able to get to the front parking aid aerial if you remove the bumper indicators
Not going to happen. You have to actually remove the bumber before you can even unbolt the thing. Quite annoying really as once you've done that you have a big fat hole!

Leave it down !!! I managed to play with my one and get it up (ooo err) :) and there is an ugly green light that comes on. Very sexy - NOT. It took ages to get it to retract again.

Cheers y'all, think i'll jus' let it stay down and pretend it's not there. Pretend what's not there? It's gone.
