Hello again all. I fitted my VTA dump valves today, simply replaced the recirc's with piston type VTA's but I didn't plug the holes in the induction tubes which the recircs vent too...... Now, since fitting the car seems to be going MUCH faster the when accelerating ?? I don't consider that the dump valves alone are causing this so could this be due to the car getting more air flow through the openings in the intake ? ALSO (the bad bit), the idle has gone to pot.. The rev's move up and down between about 800 (where it used to sit nicely) and about 300 when it seems like it will stall. Could this be due to the holes in the induction too?? Also 2, will my car now be running lean as the holes mean that the maf is giving a low reading, IYKWIM ??

Please help :(

your car is sucking unmetered air and will be running lean ...good till it goes bang(not good )

Thought it may be something like that. Could this be the cause of the lumpy idle ?

its a possibility, block em up and find out

Going to do that in the morning m8. I've heard that some DV's can cause idle problems but never seen it first hand b4.

Blocking the holes has solved the problem with the idle

Car still seems to be going better too, odd, perhaps there was a problem with the origional recirc DVs. Oh well, not complaining about that. :)
