Just read mowg's parcel courier post and thought I'd expand the boundaries slightly. Due to muppets at docks not reading clear markings and written instructions, I now have an engine on a pallet sitting in Essex when it should've been in Liverpool! Unfortunately I can't collect myself so will have to arrange delivery. I'm waiting to see what rates the shipping company can give me on inland haulage but can anyone else recommend a good, reliable and reasonably priced haulage company to transport the engine from Essex to Wrexham?

Cheers,

Leigh.

Just had a quote for them and for the size and weight of it it's not that bad: £85 + the dreaded, door to door. If anyone can recommend anyone else that might be cheaper that would be great otherwise it looks like I'm going with 24 7 Dispatch (very helpful bunch of guys BTW, if their service is as good as their people skills I'll be very happy :)).

Thanks again for the link mate :)

Cheers,

Leigh

Is it not up to whoever delivered it to the wrong place to pay for getting it to you?

Everyone is passing the buck and blaming it on someone else's fVck up. Not impressed. My guy in Japan used a different shipping company to the one I usually use (all with the best of intentions as he wanted me to have it as soon as possible) and TBH I am NOT impressed with them so far. Pretty sure I'll be telling him never to use them again

yeah should be, the guy who imported the zed for my dad once had the shipping company deilver a car to somewhere in essex when it should have been in southampton. Gave them a rollocking and they had it deilvered to southampton FOC.

Friday, type "Pallet delivery" on ebay, and this place comes up, I think it's Fastforward.

I was going to use them but didn't need to in the end.

Palletline are about the best pallet company around

Cost me £55 last time a shipped an engine

Just go online and call up your local depot to arrange it

Cheers for those two names guys. £55 sounds a helluva lot better Mike.

There's a chance it may not be needed though as I'm so fed up with their bad handling of the shipment that I'm going at them all guns blazing tomorrow. I'll be looking for free delivery out of them (got the number of the main guy at their head office now). We'll see what happens...
