Always has been and always will be, 'BLADE RUNNER'. Nothing ever comes close. Watched it last night for the first time in about a year and it reminded me how brilliant this film is. Hard to believe that it was made nearly 25 years ago.

Reason for the thread...I watched it again last night...but for the first time in about a year.

I know Chewie is a fan of it like me.

I've actually had the pleasure of seeing it on the big screen about 10 years ago, when my local cinema started re-screening some of the classics. Was breath taking then.

Don't think anything will come close, although I do have a lot of favourites, just nothing that'll ever top this film.

Shawshank Redemption

Jurassic Park

Lotr Trilogy

Back to the Future Trilogy

The Bourne Identity

Airplane

Pulp Fiction

Full Metal Jacket

The Matrix (first one is pure class - Neo dodging the agents bullets for the first time is a monster movie moment)

Terminator 2

Goodfellas

Memento (watch this if you havent seen it!)

Fight Club

Mission Impossible

Starship Troopers

Batman Begins

I think these are my favourite movies though not really what I consider to be the best.

It's pretty good if you're a fan of Joy Division/New Order and don't mind steve coogan lol

wicked film, good for playing "spot as many manchester bars/clubs as you can".

i know a load of people who went to the nights they put on to recreate the hacienda club nights. oh yeah, and my mate is a music journalist and has a cameo in it - he is on the happy mondays tour bus interviewing them.

one of the captions in the city life (mcr equivalent of time out) review of the film was "the biggest c*nt in manchester being played by the second" - tony wilson and steve coogan are both notorious arseholes

Sorry Si, but couldn't be bothered to read all six pages ;)

Absolutely top film Blade Runner is. Also had the chance to see it on the big screen when the directors cut came out (I was a little too young to see it the first time round) I've got both versions on video.

I've always liked Ridley Scott's films, the atmosphere always seems to be top on his list when making a film.

Nice one Si :duffer: Yep, such a good film, and only improves with age, as does the soundtrack. Hated it when I saw it in the cinema shortly after the starwars phenomenon in the early eighties, but then i was a pubescent teenager and hadn't a clue what was going on. Havn't watched in about two years now although the soundtrack gets played in the car at least once a month. I feel a trip to the video shop coming on :)
