I need your technical advice, Here is the problem: The remote Central Locking has stopped working, I can hear the relay clicking over, but nothing unlocks. The central locking works with the Key from the drivers door, but not from the passengers door, does this indicate that the drivers door motor has lost the will to live  ?

Could be the activator or bar from it that attaches to the locking mechanism has come off (this is what happened to me). I ended up buying a whole new actuator from ebay for £12  and using only the bar.

Best bet is to take the door card off and have a look

What i did is take the door card off then use a screw driver to trick the door into thinking its shut. then used the remote to lock/unlock and looked inside the door to what moved and what didnt. I did spend a while using the remote and the key mechanisms to determine how it should work.

if you can hear the actuator i think your bar has just come off and if your lucky the screws will still be attached to the clamp so you can just re-affix it.

£12! I paid £4.50 for one!

lol. ohh well thats the way it goes on ebay isnt it. I just needed one fast and it was a buy it now :D It was over a year now tho now and still working fine

Where abouts in the door is the activator?

Because it wasnt standard on Z's it will be where ever your alarm installer placed it. If you follow the back window guide rail down to the bottom of the door you should see it somewhere around there.

One last thing, there wont be a lot of room to play with in there. (now thats a switch for a Z) But stick with it, you'll get it in the end.

turbOz,

Had a look in the door, found the activator, just where you said it would be, no broken wires, looks like a new activator is required.

Thanx

Doesnt the activator work at all? Can you still see the bar coming from it and is it still attached to the locking mechanism of the door?

Glad my directions were good :D
