My car has been off the road for a while, while I’ve been doing some work to it.

The M.O.T has run out. Has anyone had any emission test problems?

My car is 1991 TT

Is it true that cars of this age (over 15 years) have less of a problem with this test?

This may help.

Also under the impression that imported cars prior to 1996 don't have to have a cat, but may be wrong.

I've got a '91 TT too and mine went through it's MOT yesterday. Full stainless pipe with de-cat and no probs at all, because of it's age the cats aren't required and it only has to fall below 3.5% CO emissions (mine came in at 1.05%). Good luck. :)

The test zeds have to take is very lenient, can pass no problems even with all the emmission control stuff (cats, EGR, AIV etc..) removed, even with a mega-power engine build like macca's.

Thanks for the info…. No major mods, standard ECU, custom made twin 6x4 powerflow exhaust, blitz dump valves, iridium plugs and apexi filter.
